Nico Müller - Partner, Real Estate Consulting

«Despite our growth, Wüest Partner is always willing to listen if you want to change something.»

What is your mission at Wüest Partner and what does your typical workday look like?

As a partner, I’m responsible for developing our business activities. I rethink processes, observe the latest developments in the real estate industry, and think about how we can remain at the forefront of the sector with daily innovations – both large and small – while making a lasting impact on the industry.

I also want to challenge my employees every day to grow and become entrepreneurs themselves within the company. They can and should create and advance their own business activities here, while I actively support them. As head of the consulting team in Geneva, I also provide support between German- and French-speaking Switzerland and pass on my ideas and experience, acting as a kind of bridge builder between both regions.

What makes working at Wüest Partner special for you?

While the company has grown to a significant size with a dominant market presence, we still maintain a personal approach and certain freedoms. Despite our growth, Wüest Partner is always willing to listen if you want to change something. You can still be a guerrilla, so to speak, as long as you don’t go too far against the company’s interests. I value this freedom enormously, as it allows everyone to shape the company at all levels.

What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Wüest Partner, and why?

A good atmosphere and working together. We’re all in the same boat – sometimes we swear together, but then we also look for solutions and how to move forward.

What has been the most exciting project for you so far, and what did it involve?

The Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich (IPZ). We provided economic and conceptual support, using financial mathematical calculations as a basis to convert to concrete spatial concepts. We looked at various topics, such as building typologies and target groups, supported the architectural competition, and much more. The first tenants are now onsite and the world’s fastest car has been developed there. This tells us that our models have worked and that we are seeing a proof of concept. The initial theoretical work is becoming a tangible reality.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

We come into contact with so many different people and stakeholders, from industry partners to customers and employees. Together, we develop exciting projects with impact, and that’s fun.
