May 4, 2022
At this year’s Annual General Meeting of Wüest Partner AG, Martin à Porta was elected as a new member of the Board of Directors of Wüest Partner (WP). The three existing board members Andreas Bleisch (Chairman), Andreas Ammann and Patrick Schnorf were confirmed in office.
Martin à Porta is the first member of WP’s board of directors who is not a partner of the firm. He has 25 years of experience as an executive in internationally active companies and organisations. These include Siemens, where he contributed to the company’s success in various executive roles. Most recently, he served operationally as CEO of the Finnish company Pöyry Plc, which is active in the energy, infrastructure and engineering business in Helsinki and Zurich with about 5500 employees worldwide. The listed company, which recently merged into the AFRY Group, also includes the former Swiss Elektrowatt Ingenieurunternehmung AG. Martin à Porta currently advises other companies on transformation, growth and strategy and is an independent board member of, among others, the listed companies UPM Biofore in Finland and Stantec Inc. in Canada. He is also standing for election as a member of the Board of Directors of BKW Energie AG at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. He holds a degree in engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and has furthered his education at Insead in France, Duke in the USA and ESMT in Berlin.
«We are very pleased to strengthen our Board of Directors with Martin à Porta as an experienced expert in international growth. We are certain that his outside perspective and proven strategy and governance know-how will contribute to the further development of our company in a significant way,» explains Andreas Bleisch, Chairman of the Board.
Martin à Porta is also looking forward to his future involvement: «Wüest Partner has proven in the past that it can create fitting services and products for the diverse needs of its clients. Among other things, I see further growth potential in digitalisation and in increasing client needs, both in Switzerland and internationally. I want to use my experience to be able to realise this.»
With revenue growth of 16 per cent, Wüest Partner can look back on a very successful 2021. The areas of «data and applications» and «sustainability» have developed particularly dynamically. The company, which now has over 320 employees at 11 locations in Europe, is owned by the 24 partners.
